As part of a major project for a metal processing plant, we supplied special #Diaval diaphragm valves driven by a chain wheel.
This configuration is specially designed to operate valves installed at high points in the plant. Given the strong environmental corrosion to which it is subjected, this specific configuration consists of a special coating on the handwheel and a stainless steel chain.
One of the biggest challenges of this type of system is to achieve proper sealing with low torque, due to the limitations of the force transmitted through the chain. For this reason, the valve is also hydraulically tested under these conditions.
