The thermal degasser or deaerator system is designed to remove corrosive non-condensable gases such as oxygen or carbon dioxide from the boiler feed water, which reduces the need for chemical products, and also makes it possible to take advantage of the residual heat from the return and steam from the purges to heat the feed water.
