Steam is an excellent heating medium widely used in many industrial processes. Steam is produced in two main boiler designs: Water Shell and Fire Tube. Fire Tube boilers are the most popular for steam generation at many medium sized industries in terms of size and output. Other peripheral equipment in boiler rooms are feed water tank, water treatment and deaerators.
The hot steam is used to heat the processes, once used this is condensed and drained. Condensate is recovered through the feed tank in a heat recovery process with self-acting pump systems driven by the fluid motive.
Typical sectors with extensive use of steam are Food, Beverages, Textile, Pulp, Paper Mills, automobile and related industries, steel mills, cardboard, and consumer products.
