In this context of climate emergency, desalination plants play a vital role in ensuring the supply of fresh water. We have recently successfully completed the manufacture of gate valves with reducers for an oil and gas plant in the Middle East. This project reinforces our ability to meet the needs of the petrochemical industry with high-precision engineering and complete customisation.</p>
<h2>Extreme protection against industrial corrosion</h2>
<p>To ensure safe operation and extend the service life of the equipment, we apply a specific, high-resistance paint finish.<br />
This special coating acts as an impenetrable barrier against UV radiation and environmental corrosion. As a result, our gate valves maintain their structural and operational integrity, drastically reducing maintenance costs and unscheduled plant downtime.</p>

<h2>Technical customisation for critical processes</h2>
<p>The success of this project lies in the customisation of the <b><strong>internal components of the valves.</strong></b> Fluids in the oil and gas sector present critical variables in terms of pressure, temperature and chemical composition. Following a rigorous technical analysis, we configured the internal components using bespoke alloy materials to mitigate erosion and prevent destructive leaks.</p>
<p>To optimise the operability of these gate valves, we integrated high-performance <b>manual gearboxes</b>. These mechanical mechanisms ensure smooth opening and closing, minimising the torque required by the operator and maximising operational safety under demanding differential pressures.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At <a href="https://www.comeval.es/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Comeval Valve Systems</a>,  we continue to consolidate our position as trusted technology partners in major water infrastructure projects. We have recently successfully completed the supply of a set of double-eccentric butterfly valves designed to optimise the conveyance systems of a reservoir, an environment where operational safety and absolute control of the water are paramount. For this project, we have configured equipment in three critical size ranges, supplying units with diameters of <b>DN1400, DN1200 and DN700</b>, all of which are tailored to the installation’s specific flow and pressure requirements.</p>
<h2><b>Critical functions of valves in reservoirs</b></h2>
<p>In large reservoirs, butterfly valves perform vital functions for public safety and the management of water resources. This equipment is responsible for precisely regulating the water sent to distribution channels, controlling bottom intakes and managing the drainage systems required to release water in a controlled manner during floods or emergencies. Furthermore, they act as safety isolation devices, allowing sections of pipework to be isolated so that maintenance work can be carried out on the dam without interrupting the general water supply.</p>

<h2><b>Double-eccentric technology</b></h2>
<p>Our range of double-flanged, double-eccentric butterfly valves reliably meets these stringent requirements. Their double-eccentricity design offsets the axis of rotation relative to the seat, which drastically reduces friction during opening and closing. This results in minimal wear on components, a stable operating torque over the years and a <b>bidirectional leak-tight seal</b> that prevents any leakage under massive water columns.</p>
<h2><b>Maximum safety automation with Bernard actuators</b></h2>
<p>The automation of these units is equally critical, as the safety of a reservoir depends on a rapid and reliable response. For this reason, all the equipment has been fitted with Bernard Controls electric actuators. These industrial actuators provide millimetre-precise flow regulation and seamless integration with the dam’s centralised control system. The combination of our valves’ smooth operation with the motor’s controlled torque ensures safe manoeuvres, protecting the pipework against water hammer. With this supply contract, at COMEVAL we reaffirm our commitment to bespoke engineering for safe water management.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Global fertiliser production demands industrial components capable of operating under the most severe process conditions. At <a href="https://www.comeval.es/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Comeval Valve Systems</a>, we have risen to this challenge with our latest international project in the Middle East: the supply of <b>DN150 DIAVAL® straight-through diaphragm valves</b>, custom-designed for handling slurries and highly contaminated fluids.</p>
<p>This project required a highly engineered technological solution to transport highly concentrated phosphoric acid slurries. This critical fluid presents an extreme combination of two of the greatest threats to the service life of any plant: aggressive chemical corrosion and severe mechanical abrasion caused by the high concentration of suspended solids.</p>
<h2><b><strong>Straight-through diaphragm valves</strong></b></h2>
<p>For this project, straight-through diaphragm valves are the ideal choice. Unlike weir-type models, the obstruction-free flow design of the straight-through series provides a fully concentric channel.</p>
<p>This optimised geometry offers decisive operational advantages for the fertiliser plant:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Minimal pressure drop:</b> The slurry flows smoothly without internal restrictions.</li>
<li><b>No blockages or sediment:</b> Its design, free from internal cavities, prevents the accumulation and solidification of phosphoric acid at the bottom of the body.</li>
<li><strong>Self-cleaning effect:</strong> When fully open, the continuous flow of the fluid itself carries away particles, drastically reducing unscheduled maintenance downtime.</li>

<h2><b>High-strength linings and elastomers</b></h2>
<p>The key to the success of this project lies in the careful selection of materials. To withstand the simultaneous effects of abrasion and corrosion, the body of the DN150 valves features a specific, highly porous and resistant internal lining.</p>
<p>This technical lining acts as an impenetrable barrier for the valve’s metal structure. Combined with the brand’s advanced elastomer diaphragms, the assembly guarantees a completely leak-tight seal and prevents any external leakage. Furthermore, it enables perfect bidirectional flow shut-off and facilitates <i>on-site</i> maintenance work without the need to remove the valve from the pipework.</p>
