The Tourist Bus can be taken at Plaza de la Reina and gives you a full sightseeing of the city, with all day hops on and off, to the old town and the new vibrant one. Interesting places to be visited are the monuments remaining from the Islamic occupation (Torres de Serranos, Torres de Quart) as well as the Gothic Cathedral, Central market, Miquelet Tower, bull fighting Arena, the refurbished harbour area and the modern sites of the Science & Arts Centre, Planetarium and the huge Oceanographic Park.

Valencian language is widely spoken in the Region of Valencia, it is a vibrant Region where traditions and modern life combine in perfect harmony. It is an industrialised region settling down itself as the third largest economic and demographic hub of Spain.
Theatres and Opera Halls are abundant in the city of Valencia with frequent venues all along the year. The FIB International Indie Pop Festival takes place in Benicassim over a week end in July.
The most traditional festival celebrated in the City of Valencia takes place on the week before the 19th of March every year; it commemorates the patron saint of Valencia (St. Joseph), this unique festival is called FALLAS, during the full week the streets are crowed with people anxious to enjoy the best fire works performances in the world, impressive monuments made of cardboard which are set on fire on the night of the 19th, music, traditional dresses, flowers and much more. Similar festivals also take place in Catellon and Alicante on June.
Other interesting proposals are Bull Fighting performances taking place in the main Arena on March, July and October; the Tomatina (Tomatoes Fighting Festival) in Bunyol on the last Wednesday of August, the religious Passovers during Easter and lots of street festivals taking place during the summer in every village.

Traditional Paella is perhaps the most international dish representing the Valencia and also Spanish cuisine. However, it is not the only delight to be tried in the Region of Valencia. Seafood is abundant and lots of specialities made with are served along all coastal villages. Fresh Vegetables picked up from the farms of Valencia and fresh and sweet oranges are other healthy representatives of the so called Mediterranean Diet. The Orxata beverage is very popular and can be drunk all over the region and along the year. It is a white colour beverage made out of vegetable seeds and properly mix with chilled water and sugar. It is very refreshing!. From the vineyards of inner lands, rich wines are the perfect accompaniment of our  delicious pork and mutton dishes.

There are real international sport venues taking place in the City of Valencia. The City hosts the football teams of Valencia FC and Levante UD both playing at La Liga (The Spanish First Division Football Tournament); this means a sure opportunity to attend a first class football match every week end. Valencia FC is a regular player of The Champions League. Villarreal (just 40 kms North of Valencia) is another mighty football Club playing in the Spanish League and European competitions.
Valencia hosts the only European street F-1 circuit along with Montecarlo; the racing takes place on the last week end of June. The Motor Bike GP is annually performing in Cheste Circuit (30 Kms West of Valencia) in September. Premier League Basketball is represented in Valencia by Power electronics Valencia Team with weekly performances. For sailing lovers, the America’s Cup, which was celebrated in 2007 and 2009 left a large infrastructure behind worth to be visited. Cycling, Gulf, Tennis and other competition venues can be seen along the year.

The rice-growing region of El Palmar is situated just 8 Kms South of the City, it is a lake fishing village where the traditional Paella can be enjoyed at the shores of the Albufera fresh water lake. The lake can be explored on board of wooden boats driven by the traditional rowing method.
Other choices to spend a day out in touch with the wilderness can be found in the rugged landscape of the interior lands, with its rural villages and beauties such as Morella, Vilafranca, Segorbe, Requena, Utiel, Ayora, Alcoi and other villages plenty of culture and traditions to get involved in.
